| Bio: | Character Name: James Potter Age/Birthdate:March 20, 1960 Wand:Mahogany, 11 inches, Griffin heartstring pliable Bloodline: Pureblood Appearance: James is six foot even, has hazel eyes, and seems to like the idea that his hair has a mind of its own. He finds it fitting. Identifying features/marks: Glasses and unruly hair. He's arrogant, sometimes cruel, but he's got a good heart. I do try to explain some of the things that aren't so clearly defined in canon: such as he never will run away from a challenge (either perceived or real), and he's not one to turn his back on things that he believes are injustices. However, he is a loyal and fierce friend, and will always stand by and up for the ones that he cares about. He's also quite generous, and will help those that need a helping hand. I'm pretty sure that James would at least talk to everyone--even if it is just in a teasing manner. He's never afraid of interacting with those that follow the dark arts either, since he likes to provoke them. PB: Kristopher Turner Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual. Personality:He’s quixotic, loves adventure, never can turn down a challenge, and tends to be a bit more down to earth than his counter part Sirius—but not by much. He, like those he choses to befriend, is also very focused on his views of dark magic and those that use it; he hates the concept--but not enough to avoid learning how to protect those he loves. Arrogance is his nature, because he considers it part of his charm. He has the uncanny ability to never avoid trouble, most of the time he looks for it—but other times, it finds him. Either way, he’s usually a jovial, fun loving kind of guy. James has a quite a few character flaws, and they all tie into one: hubris. Since he was a gift given to his parents late in life, James also knew what it meant to be born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Spoiled? Well, yes. However, his royal treatments never spoiled his heart. He was very financially generous with his friends—in fact, he never would turn his back on someone in need. That is not to say that he was always the most skilled when it comes to sensitivity; his tongue is often faster than his brain, and he tends to say exactly what is on his mind. He also had the need to “show off” his talents quite a bit. That truly was James Potter’s downfall, his moronic need to show off (which he never will fail to do, especially in front of one Miss Lily Evans). It also helped that he harbored a deep dislike for Slytherin and all of it’s members, probably adopted from his father’s beliefs. Even though, he has a sharp tongue, he's not as caustic as he would lead some to believe. In fact, he is a bit too soft hearted and trusting. His own pride will also get him into trouble in other ways. His strong ideals only give way to his overly large mouth, and at times, actions. Family: James Potter knew what it meant to be a pureblood wizard, and what was expected of him, and as long as that path led to having fun, he was all for it. His mother took the time to teach James what it meant to be a good hearted wizard, and treat everyone as equals. She was rather stern in her lessons, but could never stay angry with her little Jamie—especially when he would flash his most charming smile at her and say something incredibly cute and witty. His father was no help in that realm since he did more than encourage his son’s antics and pranks. In fact, his father found James’ behaviors to be hilarious. 12.Personal History: Very early in the first year of Hogwarts (actually on the Kings Cross Platform) he met Sirius Black, and the two were literally attached by the hip ever since. James was never sure if it was his own appeal, or Sirius’ rebellious nature that pulled them together, but it was what it was and they were best friends from the get go. Soon after, they met Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin. James found Peter to be a perfect little tag along, and one that was as doting as a little fan should be, but there was something special about Peter as well. After a number of near escapes with Filch, and other members of the faculty, he realized that Peter was very loyal and could be trusted, and that was all that it took to be James Potter’s friend. Lupin, well, Remus was something else. It was obvious that the boy was hiding something from them, and that to James meant that he didn’t trust them. Eventually, Sirius and himself figured out just what was eating Lupin, and confronted him in a playful way. It was such that Lupin couldn’t be mad at his friends, and admitted that his lycan nature. Then, there is his unrequited (so far) love for Lily Evans. Ever since fourth year, when he saw Lily standing up for a young Hufflepuff against a seventh year Slytherin. Lily shot a hex that would have given her a Marauder status immediately--though, it wasn't just her magic ability. There was something so beautifully graceful in her actions, he knew that they had to be together. | |||||||||
